A swarm of red and white striped windsocks rises above the roof of the German Pavilion. The installation by artist Christoph Brech is a highly sensitive, moving formation that refers to the uncertainties and dynamics of climate phenomena. As a sculptural metaphor, the swarm makes the unpredictability and sensitivity of climate visible and at the same time refers to the risk of climatic chain reactions. The installation poetically reveals the complexity of atmospheric processes: Each windsock follows its own rhythm, influenced by altitude, position and changing flows. This creates an image of the forces that influence the sensitive and complex system of climate.
