Strictura

In the STRESS space, visitors physically experience what an overheated city feels like—intensely visual, atmospherically dense, and tangibly oppressive. At the center stands a steel sculpture by artist duo Hildegard Rasthofer and Christian Neumaier. Crafted from raw steel, the sculpture defines the space, directs movement, traps air, and stores heat. Its imposing presence creates a spatial and physical encounter—a dynamic interplay of material, scale, and motion. The sculpture generates a climate of density and heat, an atmosphere where the body struggles to thermoregulate. Radiating heat into the room, the structure evokes sensations of threat, confinement, and discomfort.
